Skin Peels

Glow With Rejuvenated, Radiant & Smoother skin

What Are Skin Peels?

Chemical Peeling is a skin rejuvenating procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to cause peeling of its upper layers. Depending on the depth of the peel it can remove freckles, sunspots, hyperpigmentation and even superficial wrinkles. Skin peels have non-toxic chemicals of acids and enzymes that deeply exfoliate layers of the skin to reveal fresher, clearer, more youthful looking skin . As the dead skin cells are removed, the skin produces new skin cells revealing fresher, smoother skin.

Revita Clinic are also an ambassador of industry’s leading skin peels Obagi and Mesoestetic, specialising in the treatment of melasma, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, general redness, acne, sun damage and ageing. Skin peels can be applied to the face, neck, chest, hands and other areas of the body.

Procedure

Skin peel treatments at Revita Clinic involves the application of a chemical solution to your skin in order to speed up the exfoliation process. It works by removing layer(s) of dermis (skin) and accelerating your skin cell turnover. The strength of the peel determines the number of layers of skin peeled, the length of downtime and inevitably, the final result.

Skin peels vary according to  your skin needs i.e. pigmentation, complexion brightening, treating acne, etc. To ensure your skin is suitable for this treatment, you may be required to prepare using active skin care products. The pre-peel preparation may include a combination of retinol, vitamin C, a tyrosine inhibitor and glycolic ingredients. This will be discussed in your skincare consultation with your clinician.

Skin Peel FAQs

The post peel application process can take 1 to 10 days depending on the type of peel. With the higher strength peels, one can expect either light flaking or more substantial sheets of skin beginning to shed within 48 hours.

No matter what time of year you choose to start treatment, you’ll need to swear by your sunscreen. It is important to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day. We recommend the mesoestetic spf 50+ available at Revita Clinic.

After your face peel, ensure you adhere strictly to your clinicians post-care recommendations and avoid heavy makeup and ingredients that can irritate your skin, such as retinol. If you must apply makeup, use a mineral powder that won’t clog your pores, and make sure your makeup applicators are clean and bacteria-free.

Wash your face with cool water. Warm or hot water might not feel as good as cool or cold water, which can help soothe post-peel sensations
