What Is Hyperhydrosis
Hyperhidrosis is a condition which causes excessive sweating and often without reason. Sweating is the body’s natural reaction to keeping cool, however individuals with this medical condition will sweat even when the body is cool or at rest. Often times the excessive sweating is not triggered by anything. The individual that suffers with hyperhidrosis has very active sweat glands that can effect the hands, armpits and the feet.
Procedure
Hyperhidrosis can be treated with a simple Botulinum Toxin injection. It will simply create a barrier for the sweat glands, sending signals to the brain that it doesn’t need to sweat excessively. Sweat will not be produced in the areas that have been treated with the anti-sweat injections.
The solution is injected just under the skin where the sweat glands are located. A single treatment can last between 6 to 8 months.
Downtime
Following your treatment you can return to your normal daily activities. There is no downtime associated with this non-surgical procedure.

The results are going to vary by person. However, you should expect significant reduction to no sweating in couple of weeks after your treatment.
The injections can vary from person to person. In many cases they would last for 4 months, though it depends on brand of product and individual. Some people have been able to go for as long as 12 months with a single round of injections.
The injections involve a needle and so there will be some pain. Most patients describe it as a pinch as the needle goes into the muscle.
The treatment works by blocking nerve signals to the sweat glands in the armpit area using Botulinum Toxin, thus preventing the glands from producing sweat. By keeping the skin dry, the treatment additionally helps to prevent body odour. (Body odour is formed when bacteria degrade sweat).
