PDO Thread Lift

What Is PDO Thread Lift?

A PDO thread lift is a procedure that uses dissolvable sutures to rejuvenate and lift sagging skin. It’s a cheaper and faster alternative to facelift surgery, but the results don’t last as long and aren’t as dramatic. Recovery from the procedure is minimal and it’s often possible to return to work the same day. Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are a special medical grade thread that is thinner than hair, made of protein. Research has confirmed that PDO relaxes tendons and muscles, whilst a foreign body reaction improves the blood flow to the area stimulating neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen in the skin). It also stimulates elastin and hyaluronic acid, both substances are key to maintaining firm, youthful looking skin.

Benefits

Procedure

Before treatment, the patient’s skin will be marked for insertion and direction of the inserted threads. Once marked, the insertion points will be throughly anesthetized. Multiple threads can be inserted through the same point in the skin. PDO threads are attached to a long cannula. The cannula will be pushed through the tissue beneath the skin. When the thread has reached its predetermined end point, the thread will be released and the cannula removed.

This process will be repeated until the desired lift has been achieved, with as many 1-15 threads inserted depending on the treatment area and concern being addressed. Any extra thread will be trimmed. The threads will be massaged to ensure the tissue is smooth and no dimpling is present.

Why Choose PDO Thread Lift

Immediate skin lifting, as well as Cellular renewal as the collagen production which enhances the texture and elasticity of the skin, removes the fine lines. Skin tightens, as well as the fat tissues, which are contracted due to the threads.

The threads are dissolved naturally through simple hydrolysis. Due to cellular rejuvenation, the lift will stay for months. The threads contract the fat in the skin and enhance the production of new blood vessels and collagen to promote microcirculation.

The minimal downtime and instant results are the biggest advantages of this treatment. Moreover, the risks are low due to its non-invasive nature. There are rarely any chances of bleeding, severe bruising, scarring, or any other complication in this procedure.
