What Is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable skin remodelling treatment containing one of the highest concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) on the market, especially formulated for people whose skin lacks volume and elasticity. Profhilo delivers very pure, stabilised hyaluronic acid into the skin through a series of small injections. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring chemical which the body uses to retain water in the skin and support the skin’s collagen and elastin. Profhilo® works in a course of 2 or 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart. On the face, only 5 injection points are necessary on each side of the face to give maximum results. Profhilo® acts as a hydrator rather than a filler. It is injected just under the surface of the skin, where it disperses quickly and reacts with your own tissues to instantly boost hydration. Over the following 4 weeks, phase 2 will boost collagen and elastin production within the dermis. This helps to give the skin a youthful, plump, smooth and firm appearance.

Procedure
Your practitioner will go through the treatment and medical history in the initial consultation before the treatment.
The procedure lasts 20-30 minutes. Topical local anaesthetic cream is sometimes needed for this and there is very little discomfort as a result of this. Your practitioner will mark up the points to be injected, and then inject the Profhilo treatment at 5 separate injection points on each side of your face. If you are having the treatment injected to other body parts such as your neck, your cleavage or your hands, then the procedure will be similar.
Downtime
Following your treatment you can return to your normal daily activities. There is no downtime associated with this non-surgical procedure.

Profhilo skin treatments don’t really hurt much at all. The doctor that is completing the treatment will typically use numbing cream to prevent any pain at all. Other than that, it is just a small prick with a needle, as many treatments are!
Although Profhilo treatments can instantly rejuvenate and hydrate skin, it typically takes 4 to 6 weeks to work properly since the treatment injected requires some time to spread and trigger collagen and elastic production within your body. Since everybody is different, the time can vary between a month to two months.
Generally speaking, the results of Profhilo treatments can last up to roughly 6 months, however, this may vary by patient – particularly depending on skin type and age. The Profhilo treatment can work independently as a treatment or in combination with other cosmetic treatments, mainly because it is a natural product that is being injected.
